An old walnut tree in Genoa carries a burden of more snow this morning. Road controls are in effect for all the routes over the Sierra and several highways down in the Valley.

Snow started falling in Genoa before nightfall. Road controls are in effect around Lake Tahoe and over the passes as a winter storm started dropping snow in Carson Valley at about 3:30 p.m. today.
