Foster win a big blow to GOP
“There's just going to be a tidal wave if Barack is on the ballot”
The election of Democrat Bill Foster to a congressional seat held by Republicans for decades illustrated once again the power of timing in politics - a contest framed by a sour economy that pitted a newcomer ... via Chicago Tribune

When is Oberweis going to get the message that people just don't like him?
He adequately handles himself when parroting stock GOP policy, but in debate and interviews comes across as someone who's elevator doesn't reach the top floor. |

When one thinks back to the likes of Congressmen Phil Crane and Henry Hyde and Ed Derwinski in their prime and looks at the current crop of Republican poseurs, the differences are startling.
Those men were animated by ideas and ideals and had a wealth of personally internalized commitment that readily transmitted and excited the conservative base. Today, it seems, the bullpen is peopled by candidates animated by personal ambition dressed in conveniently embraced conservative lip service and people can tell the difference. The hard left, for the time being has the benefit of being animated by passion. A hate-filled, destructive, adolescent-styled passion, but they are animated nevertheless. The dissemblers at the Tribune editorial board, should explain what they make of their "blue dog moderate", Foster, being cheered on at the dias by only 1 IL Congressman, the radical leftist, Jan Schakowsky. |

I hope Oberweis stays in the race. He's great for a Foster victory.

Oberweis is joke. He has become the Lar Daley of Illinois politics. If there is an election he will run for something. The Republicans lost because they did not have a viable candidate. Is Foster the right person, possibly. Maybe all of politics deserves a breath of fresh air. But only if the voters stop putting the same old faces in Office.

The voters sent a very clear message to Oberweiss, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
|
|
Just say NO to Noberweis!

The issue is not Oberweiss. The issue is the mismanagement, lies, theft and disagreeable nastiness of the entire Repukeliscum Party. The Repukeliscum have run the country for the last 8 years, and it has been a DISASTER.

Would Oberweis please just go away now? That was the most negative set of adds I've ever seen.

"Oberweis The Unelectable" should take some of his gazillions and donate it toward rehabilitating limbless Iraq war vets, since the war is OK with him; maybe give them jobs in one of his various companies.

I completely disagree with you "Beacon." Let Oberwiess stay in the game, we love watching him spend millions in 4 - or perhaps 5 - failed attempts. GOP has done enough damage. Have you hears, Christmas has been extended, indefinately. |

If republicans want to win they're going to have to give a positive message. Maybe the problem is that they don't have one.

The corruption and pedophilia which is the calling card of today's Repukeliscum party is unprecedented in history. Never in history has one party had so many members in jail at one time.
The 109th Congress (Hastert's last mismanaged congress before the Democrats threw them out on their ears) has CURRENTLY 3 members in jail. There are 4-5 more who might soon be in jail. That's today's modern Repukeliscum Party. There are no principles beyond "Did you bring the money?" They have no ideas except "Man, that boy has a nice butt." That's today's Repukeliscum Party. In Nov 2008, Democrats will achieve the 60-vote senate, and the 60 vote majority in the House. Along with POTUS Barack Obama, we will then begin cleaning out the cesspool of corruption, mismanagement and outright evil that today's Repukeliscum Party has become. |
why do you hate America? this guy was ELECTED by the PEOPLE who live in the district he was running for ELECTION in your shtick is old and tired The majority is awake and taking back the car keys from the juveniles like yourself who obviously hate America and what America truly stands for God bless America God bless our troops God damn the liars who put our troops in harms way and God damn un-American idiots like you |

Jim Oberweis should look at the current group running the county and state and think what it means to be such an obnoxious individual that even the people who will elect them won't elect him.

During the 109th congress, when Hastert, Delay and others ran the congress, more crimes occurred than in any congress in history. Mark Foley, a perfect Repukeliscum, was doing the Repukeliscum bogey with naked male pages. Delay was using the Federal Air Traffic control system to do political things, and was running a racketeering operation. Abramoff was paying off every Repukeliscum congr.essh.i.thead in sight.
Cunningham: Jail Ney: Jail Renzi: Jail soon Foley: Pervert Miller: Thief Doolittle: Thief Boehner: Thief It will probably be 10 years before the Repukeliscum get back into control again. Americans are realizing the corruption, thievery, and moral perversion at the heart of the Repukeliscum Party. |

Oberweis should stick to making ice cream instead of attack ads and lies.

Unless the state of Illinois comes up with the public office of pariah Oberweis should just sit back and enjoy his family, personal success and a nice tasty milkshake on the house. It is clear that the people of Illinois do not want this man holding public office. This latest loss has moved him into the pathetic category. Just fade away cowboy just fade away.

bwahahahahaha -- tom delay, and now denny hastert.

The state GOP thought it was better to run certified nutcase ALAN KEYES for senator rather than put Oberweis on the ballot despite Oberweis being the 2nd place winner on the primary ballot.
What's that tell you about Oberweis? The guy's a joke. |

One thing that intelligent people have learned during the Bush Dictatorship:
Experience is oversold. Rumsfeld and Cheney are amongst the two MOST EXPERIENCED persons ever in public office. What did that do? They lie constantly, cheat, get us into wars to fatten up their investment portfolio and violate the Constitution 12 ways before breakfast. What is the value of experience? Very little. Judgement is much more important, and Obama is very good on that level. So, take your experience, and shove it up your butt, budd. |
