OMG .. th contends of this lawsuit are outrageous. Blatantly another "family" trying to blame someone else instead of accepting responsibility for their own actions and trying to profit financially from a tragic situation. Family members called the GPD to "handle" their son/brother because of their inability to do so, which indicates they were unable to control him, were afraid of him and concerned that he would hurt one of them or someone else. If this man had mental issues, this situation was caused by his family's failure to see that he received proper care including the appropriate housing and medication NOT the GPD's. This family's reaction to this tragedy is disgraceful and does not show grief over the loss of a their "missed" brother/son but instead indicates another way to make an "easy buck" and place their blame on someone else !!

Garland Police should pay for this - I have seen the arrogance of the GPD first hand ... I am sure this situation ended in tragedy was not only the victim's fault but how GPD takes things well over extremes -- I know I have seen it before ...

you are certainly quick to point fingers. Were you there and involved in this particular situation .. or are your comments just your "speculation"? oh wait ..you mentioned something about what you have "seen" before .. sounds a bit like sour grapes ! I imagine you are one of those "fine" citizens of Garland that would be the 1st to call the police when you need assistance and the 1st to criticize every decision they make if it is not in your favor. With some of you, these men & women just can not seem to win. Why don't you go through the rigorous training they endure at the policy academy, then hit the streets and have to make split second decisions on a daily basis and listen to thankless citizens like "you" spread your negative comments. Bet you could not handle even one day of their job nor do you have the wherewithall or endurance to give that much to your community.

Cop shoots violent out of control insane person who not only had access to a shotgun-- but-- had shot several cars and windows with it.

Family calls the police because they are fearing for their lives and for the lives of the neighbors - and any angry neighbor who is ticked off about his car being shot up.

I cant feel very sorry for this family- as Im thinking they were probably spared a greater tragedy at the hands of the incurable maniac.

If anyone is to blame-- it would be the person who enabled the violent nut to get his hands on the shotgun.

I think family and "witnesses" are lying because they smell money.

Give it up, thank the cop for putting that thing out of your misery and clean up the broken glass.
I think the only money you are going to be seeing is the ching coming out of your pockets to pay for the neighbor's shot up vehicles.
