Thanks again, lets help the small town atmosphere, and put all the small nurseries, pharmacies, hardware stores, clothing, stores out of business. A super store will do nothing but damage the existing struggling food markets as well. A job well done by the commissioners again.

Well, I guess the time has come to move out of our once beautiful valley. I've lived here my whole life, and swore the day that a superstore came to town, I'd sell and leave.:( How sad is this?!?! Walmart is an awful place and it will for sure damage our small town. We have a Walmart in South Carson, we DONT need another one in South Gardnerville.

my husband and i have retired to carson valley for it's beauty, quiet atmosphere and small town ambience. if walmart is to open a super center, our small town and quiet atmosphere will be destroyed. we live close to east valley and traffic and noise will increase a lot if a walmart is allowed in our quiet valley. please don't let this happen.

I think building a walmart is a great idea. I live in wellington and having to travel an hour just to get to do my shopping is difficult. In no way will ONE walmart destroy a towns quiet and beautiful atmosphere. Get real.

I live in Topaz and I agree that building a Walmart in Gardnerville is a great idea.

I think it will be great, and there will be jobs too. I think the people needs to give it a chance.

The Douglas County commissioners are totally asleep at the wheel. They are more concerned by personal interests than doing the right thing for the county and the country lifestyle that exists today. The existing Wal-Mart in Carson is only a 20 minute drive. We don't need on closer than that!

It's a done deal. Walmart is approved and will start building early 2010.

This is GREAT!! Now I don;t have to drive all the way to Carson and save even more money in fuel!

easy for those NOT in gardnerville to applaud walmart construction. we have a local economy to protect. out-of-towners are simply lobbying for their convenience. walmart, by the way, is NOT a done deal. i attend the public meetings! IF YOU DON'T WANT A WALMART, WRITE TO OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS AND LET THEM KNOW!!!

Daily Horoscope for December 7

Capricorn

The detail-oriented Moon in Virgo is extremely supportive and helpful, so it feels good to know that you can count on some support. You may know just where the help is coming from, but with communicative Mercury all over transformative Pluto in your sign, maybe you're being looked after by your very own guardian angel. Don't let this encourage you to take foolish risks or overstep the mark.
