Yet another "proclimation" that will not be given any teeth, is unenforceable, and is basically a handjob. Should anyone actually be process under this new decree, the employer will be heal responsibe instead of the individual and fined.
It's a new feel good tax. |

i know persons plumbers, painter, ect who gets high at lunch should that be against the law also they laugh about it because they know noone will do anything about it then we have new buildings with problems and the public wonders whey

This is something that really needs attention from our government? This town is nuts!

The highway job in question was "Supervised" (for lack of a better term) by an idio+ drinking with his crew. He fled the scene after the guy fell to his death only to be pulled over and arrested for DWI.
Now all New Mexico Contractors and Craftspeople will be held accountable for thier indescretion. The Drug Testing lobbiest is alive and well, this is about money. |

if they do drug testing it needs to be done with a surprise not telling the people who are being question whats going on there is some stuff you can drink the same day and you are "clean" this it totally wrong and the public saftey is a risk

Why don't they test the cops of this state (for drug and alcohol) not just one group but all of them ,every city ,state, dot, that makes more sense to me -the craftsmen also need to be tested ,they even need to test the people who get welfare ....TEST THEM ALL!
|

Soon, we will ALL be subjected to random drug and alcohol screening at our jobs. Even desk workers could make mistakes if they're drunk or high while typing on their PC's...egads!
And there will be plenty idio+s who agree with such a policy, because we've pretty much decided the Fourth Amendment in this country is outdated. We want the government to protect us from ourselves at all costs. How sad for our grandkids. Why on earth would you have children today? The world will be putting them through hell. |

Wow, and I see Bob actually posted that very thing..."TEST THEM ALL!" including him, evidently. I was just kidding, but I guess I was right. Sigh. How sad for us AND our grandkids.
Methinks it's time to buy some stock in drug and alcohol screening and equipment companies!(And also in telephone conversation encryption devices.) |

WOW! Why worry, Trenton James (ALJ for Work farce solutions) let'um drink on the job and if you fire'um they get unemployement benefits!
Whoo Peee! Bottoms up. |

I have seen this type of policy before. I am certified to conduct random D & A’s for DOT programs and this will not unless it is across the board testing. I believe that most craftsmen and construction worker will pass with out a problem but the ones that do not should be let go. Do people really want to work on, driver on a bridge, building that was constructed while someone was high or drunk. I have seen the aftermath of this. When a portion of a building came down when a HVAC system was drop from a crane because the operator was stoned on pot. This caused a women and her baby to be killed; just because he wanted to get stoned at lunch.

A lot of painters and dry wallers drink a good part of the day also. I think any type of work that you do should be be sober
|

|
Alcohol should not be so available
|
|
|
And it's time to 'randomly' test our state government officials as well for drug and alcohol use. Or are they flying too high above the radar? ;-)

I just hope they don't crack down on posting and drinking. You pry my beer out of cold dead hand.
