In a hearing scheduled later this month in the Gallia County Common Pleas Courtroom, the court will decide if a Gallia County man accused of shooting and critically wounding a Gallipolis Police officer last September is fit to stand trial.

Last Thursday a new batch of soldiers pledged their service to the Union Army in the Gallipolis City Park - if only for an afternoon.

They arrive in town every year at about this time. This year there were 36 of them, but there have been as many as 52.
