"Proud to be an American" is the theme of the Gahanna Lions Club's annual July 4 parade scheduled to step off at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 4, from Clark Hall, 380 Granville St. Parade chairman Don Quick of the Gahanna Lions said he anticipates 200 to 300 entries for the annual event that traditionally lasts about an hour.

Police were told Shull Skate Park , 236 Granville St., needed to be closed as a result of flooding at 4:07 p.m. June 25. Academy Park , 1201 Cherry Bottom Road, was reported under water at 10:42 p.m. June 24. Police were told the city was closing the park and the paths from Woodside Green.
