Gadsden dismissing 40 teachers with emergency certification

A new regulation from the Arizona Department of Education has impacted the Gadsden Elementary School District and will keep 40 teachers with an emergency teaching certificate out of the classroom.

Many of the emergency teachers hired in the San Luis area were hired last summer 2008. How were they suppose to get certified in 3 semesters, while working full time?
They were PROMISED a 2yr teaching contract if they would move out of state to unfamiliar Yuma. I feel our young college graduates are being taken advantage of by the high salaried administration.
