Emerson "Speed" Neumann, 90, Cando, ND, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Towner County Living Center, Cando.

Highway 200A from Washburn to Highway 200 is closed due to water over the road, according to a North Dakota Department of Transportation release issued at about 9:45 this morning.

Customers served by Dakota Valley Electric Cooperative have been experiencing extensive electric out-ages that began as the late-winter storm passed through the area Tuesday afternoon and evening.

The following roads, which were closed due to snow, are now open in the central and eastern region of the state, according to a North Dakota Department of Transportation press release from 9:30 this morning.

The Stutsman County Commission declared a snow emergency during its regular meeting Tuesday.

A Gackle, N.D., man was injured Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash at 12:46 p.m. at the junction of N.D. Highway 46 and N.D. Highway 1, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The NDSU Saddle & Sirloin Club announced Jeff Dahl as the 2008-09 "Agriculturalist of the Year." The induction of Dahl into the S/S's Hall of Fame marks a first for the club.
