Montco ex-coach awaits sentence for molesting boy
A former area hockey coach is awaiting sentencing in Montgomery County Court after pleading guilty to charges that he molested a young boy.
Gary L. Byer, 66, of Lower Frederick Township, pleaded guilty on March 27 to criminal rape attempt of a child and three other first-degree felony crimes, court records show.
Judge William R. Carpenter ordered Byer to remain in Montgomery County Prison without bail while awaiting sentencing.
Byer also must undergo an evaluation by the Pennsylvania Sexual Offender Assessment Board, which helps courts determine if an alleged sex offender is a sexually violent predator. Read more

I worked with this guy years ago, and was suspicious of him then, so this didn't suprise me.
