Senior Center volunteers deliver more than meals
“We're a non-profit organization”
Jerry and Loretta Tippetts have been delivering meals to Lovell seniors for quite a while - more than 15 years, Loretta thinks. They have been married 50 years this May and they've been dating since age 8. They have lived in Lovell all their lives and know many of the people on their routes; they went to school with some or know them from around town. But there are also a lot of new faces.
The Tippetts deliver about 20 meals on any given Thursday to 60-or-older people in Lovell. They are part of a fleet of 20 volunteers that deliver meals every week to senior citizens in Byron, Cowley, Deaver, Frannie and the surrounding areas, averaging 340 meals per week. Read more
