Man is facing child-sex charge
A man who is being returned here from Louisiana will be held under a $1 million bond on at least one charge that he sexually abused a child over a period of five years.
Authorities arrested the man, a 34-year-old Waveland resident, at the home of a friend in Franklinton, La., at 5 p.m. Sunday.
Bay Police Chief Tom Burleson said the man had been working in Louisiana when a local resident who was keeping the child filed a police complaint about the alleged abuse. It had gone on for about five years, from the time the child was 9 years old, Burleson said. Read more
Man charged with sexual battery returned to Hancock County
A man charged with sexually abusing a child for a five-year period has been returned here from Louisiana, where he was arrested Sunday.
The man was extradited from Franklinton, La., after being tracked down by members of the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force. The 34-year-old Waveland resident is being held under $1 million bond for forced sexual battery of a minor.
He was located at the home of a friend in Franklinton and arrested without incident Sunday evening. Read more
