Arizona to sell prisons, other properties in leaseback deals for cash to help balance budget

How consistently short-sighted of them! In the long term this will cost Arizona a heck of a lot more than it saves. But hey, I'm sure some businesses will reap the profits from this deal.

That sounds about on par with sub-prime loans, in fact isn't this like the reverse mortgage deal that elderly people do before kicking the bucket? So is our state about to kick the bucket, therefore we need to reverse mortgage all of our property? So will ALL home owners be able to do the same. If so that would be great, I'm now so upside down due to the sub-prime mess, at least it may stop me from bailing if something were to happen to my job. If they can do it, we can do it, right?

They want to sell when the market is at it's lowest in years. Why didn't they sell them at the height of the market? These are our leaders? I want to know what companies are agreeing to buy these properties, because I have a house for them.
