New OHV trail system opens near Hoodoo

Off-highway vehicle riders will have a new trail system to explore just over the mountains this summer, as the Willamette National Forest has opened the new Santiam Pass Summer Motorized Recreation Area, featuring almost 50 miles of roads and trails.

Time to find a new life for Skyliner Lodge

Organizations with a proposal for utilizing Skyliner Lodge should contact Rick Wesseler, special uses coordinator by May 29 at the Bend-Fort Rock Ranger District, at 541-383-4792 or at rwesseler@fs.fed.us. The historic Skyliner Lodge on Tumalo Creek west of Bend needs a new tenant, the Deschutes National Forest announced this week.
