A Fort Meade Middle Senior High School teacher has been charged in connection with a so-called "adverse possession" real estate case that happens in Polk County more than many might think.

The announcement is official for a June 9 wedding between Savanna Lee Taylor and Addison Melburn Barnett, both Fort Meade residents.

David Lewis, a long-time Fort Meade resident and former high school principal, led off a series of meet-and-greet public meetings Monday night as the Polk school board narrows its list of contenders for the Superintendent of Schools position.

Public bus transportation in Fort Meade has gotten an upgrade, and the county is considering more runs to and from the city later this summer.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Beverly Taylor of Sebring. The groom-elect is the son of Connally and Tina Barnett of Fort Meade.
