Quest capacity concerns invite talk on housing, school choice

By the time Fort Lupton schools wrap up their laundry list of extensive, districtwide building renovations and upgrades sometime next spring or summer, they may have to turn around and start all over again. As some criticize interim superintendent pick, district faces added costs, loss of experience

A Fort Lupton woman who headed recent efforts to oust a longtime Weld Re-8 superintendent has ideas about what the district should do to now fill that position. After the board announced Aug. 11 that the district reached a separation agreement with decade-long head administrator, Mark Payler, they went on to say that Payler would remain with the district as a consultant through December, during which time he would help the district wrap up an extensive list of building renovations and upgrades.

LeBlanc family honored as 2014 parade grand marshalls

Rather than one single honoree for this year's Trapper Day parade, organizers instead opted to honor the LeBlanc family as their grand marshalls for the 2014 parade. Visitors and re-enactors to the Rendezvous held at the Old Fort Lupton hold their ears as they wait for on of the exhibit's cannons to fire.

Better with age: River Garden Winery, a decade in the making, comes to fruition

Like a fine wine itself, a Fort Lupton couple's vision of opening what the claim is the first winery in Weld County, the "new" River Garden Winery, had to ferment awhile before coming to full-bodied fruition. A year on ... Waters gone and hopes higher

An employee with the Commerce City Streets Department uses a pump to remove standing water at East 69th Avenue and Forest Street in the Fairfax section of Commerce City last year. Working two 12-hour shifts, 24 hours a day, city employees pumped water that caused serious flooding to homes in the area to a nearby ditch leading out of the subdivision.
