Loss of last family owned store hits community hard

peach was very good to me and amber both my ex worked for her you sure cant go to wal mart and charge food when your family is hungry

i know all to well how you feel peach allowed my family to come in get groceries and pay at a later date,asbury will be missed by many

I no longer live in Wayne or the county for that matter but I still bleed red and black and this breaks my heart.My heart and prayers are with the family(owners) and the community.

I feel so sorry for the owners of Asbury's Market. This store was their life. Each and everyday they were at the store greeting all the customers. They will truely be missed. Does anyone know if they will rebuild the store?

Everybody knows that the Ramey bunch burnt peace out cause she wouldn't sell out to them .... gurantee in 3 months they'll be a car lot or something with the ramey name on it sitting right there.

I am sorry for the lost of the Store burning down..
Peach and George is very nice people ..U couldn't ask for a better place to shop..
If u don't have the money for food she would let u pay later for it...My prayers goes out to the Asbury's Family ...

NO...Tolsia's locker room was the one destroyed by a fire, not wayne's. u may want to get ur facts straight before u post them.

Im not saying its not sad that she lost her store but people would be lying if they said the place wasnt nasty. Food out of date, smell of dead rats, and the meat was disgusting. Peach never had a smile on her face and was very rude. No wonder the place burned. When was the last time she squeezed any money out for updates. Shes not the good person everyone puts her out to be. She scams hud. How does she get away with renting those nasty trailers out on hud when she doesnt do any updates on them either, and they are also rat infested. People might say im mean but as many dirty looks she has given me for no reason, who cares. Sure the insurance money will follow and she will be happy again. One less eye sore in Wayne.

think you have it right gross, what a family. Why does people always want to make them sound like saints, check out thier family history. And as for Walmart I don't like it either, but I sure did not need her credit.

I've only been a visitor to Wayne but I always enjoyed going into Asbury's. They were always friendly. It's a shame that another one of the last Mom and Pop stores will no longer be operating.

You were probably one of the skanksthat rented off of her and didnt pay your rent. And maybe if all the people who owed her money would have paid her maybe she could have updated and had a wonderful smile her face. Did you think she was stressed? She is over 80 and works probably more hours than you could in a lifetime. And as for insurance no it all SHE DIDN'T HAVE ANY. Did you not read the paper or watch the news? Oh well maybe you dont have cable...

I don't care how much money peach has.She was not going to do no upkeep on her store.The only time she does upkeeps on her rental places is when it's through hud.I will say one thing she could have afforded insurance she is just to tight.
