I don't understand all the fuss about land...yes are white ancestors are assholes we all get it but Native Americans aren't forced to live on the Reservation they just choose to. It's easier living out there for them. They get free tuition while i sit here and pay thousands and thousands of dollars for college. I don't think it's fair just because we are making up for the past. The past is done and over with we should look at the present and future. I went to massena schools all my life and whites and native americans where treated differently. The more native americans our schools have the more they get paid. For example my friend was in the junior high school here and she was half african american and half native american. There were these three Native American girls who would pick and pick on her for being part black. One day those same girls put a picture of a black girl hanging from a tree on my friends locker, she was devistated but the school didn't do a thing. They said they couldn't do anything until physical harm was present, but they didn't consider any mental harm or harrasment. It really pisses me off! It is 2009 and there is still racism happening and it's complete BS.

What do they plan on doing with all of it and where are all the peole that own land sposed to go? Some of the land has been in the same family for ages.
Are they going to just walk away.

I agree pretty much with massena girl . I think we have made enough repayment for something that happened in the 1800's . It was a different time then . You can only repay so much . I do believe the natives have milked it for all it's worth and will do it more if they keep giving in . Are they going to give in at the bridge ? I honestly think people need to tell their local politicians to buck up or we will get one who does . Are you going to let them dictate law now ? Make the decisions on weather there are armed agents or not . The longer you guys cave in the more they will take . Buck up !

Massena girl, you are absolutely right. They lost the fight for the land back in the 1800's. We're not giving back the original 13 colonies to the British just because we are all friendly now. Why in hell do they think they have any right to land they lost in a fight over a hundred years ago? Now they're all PO'd over the Canadians arming their Customs officers-well hell, they have guns by the boatload so they can smuggle. They just want to disarm what they perceive as the enemy. Make no mistake, they see the border patrol as enemies-and they feel almost as hostile toward the white man. Don't care if they never open the Cornwall crossing. Cuts down on the smuggled drugs, ciggarettes and watered down gasoline. I would love to pay no income taxes, no land taxes, and no sales taxes and still be able to work and get paid well for the same job the white man has to pay all those taxes on, not to mention no taxes on any retirement they earn, plus all the Federal money handouts they get. Makes me sick to think of all the 'entitlement groups' that live off the taxes aworking white man's income pays.

i agree totally, and don't forget their medical thats free too.. as far as i can see they have it made i would actually feel sorry for them if they had to work an HONEST job and pay for what they want in life. thats why the majority of them smuggle drugs ,they have way to much time on their hands and their greedy . getting everything handed to them is not enough they want more for free ,and it is sad to say but the racism will always be there because they will always feel we owe them something it has been how long now and we are still paying for it.
