That's great news - now the people of Orange Beach can be held hostage JUST LIKE THE PEOPLE OF FOLEY is with Baldwin County Sewer Services and our beloved Clarence Burke, who raised rates 68% to bail out his speculation of growth that went sour. Stupid is as stupid does.

I guess the Orange Beach Government is not telling its citizens where all the extra money will be coming from. They just hope the stupid taxpayers will think it is growing on trees.

man its a great idea. time for the locals to stop getting so much for so little. the citizens of orange beach are complaining over $8. please. they spend that much having one drink at the local bars. and they want a dog walking park on top of it. no wonder there are so many wealthy people in orange beach. good example of socialism when you get right down to it.

It's almost as good as the idea to sell the Express Bridge. Private utilities can raise rates without the approval of any governing body. Basic infrastructure does just that- provide BASIC needs, and complete and total privatization of those things do not spur competition, as the age old argument has it, but they sure do line the pockets of the owners and their shareholders, all at the expense of the general public. SOME THINGS NEED REGULATING and that doesn't come close to the age old cry of "socialism".

It does get a little boring that today the buzz-word is Socialism when in fact, the people who are crying it at every opportunity are really using the term to disguise the word that they really mean and that word is Racism. If Obama were White and not just 1/2 White, these extreme rightwing conservative idiots would never have thought that the public ownership of utilities such as water and sewer distribution as well as effective regulation of insurance companies, Wall Street and the banks was anything except a good idea. Nothing would please these folks better than the dissolution of all government until they find out that greedy enterpreners will steal their last dollar faster than a New York minute.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Taurus

Someone isn't mucking about today, and if they're annoyed about something they'll come right out with it. This means you could be on the receiving end of some zingers, but equally it means that you'll be giving as good as you get. Now, although it will be very tempting to let off steam by giving someone an earful, aren't there better directions in which to channel your energy?
