Flushing hotel-hospital project gets rendering
Queens-based development firm Fleet Financial Group has released a rendering for its $100 million hotel-and-medical-facility project in Flushing known as the Eastern Mirage. Last year, the Board of Standards and Appeals approved Fleet Financial head Yi "Richard" Xia's request to build a non-residential structure on the site at 42-31 Union Street.

Police Investigate After Three Bodies Found in Apartment Fire in Flushing
The fire department says the call about a fire on the sixth floor of a building on Roosevelt Avenue near Parsons Boulevard in Flushing came in just before 5 a.m. Although flames were quickly put out with damage limited to just one apartment, three people inside were pronounced dead at the scene. "I'm just a little worried because there were a couple people on the sixth floor that we were friends with, and I don't know who it was.

Murder-suicide suspected after NYC blaze kills 3
A family from Korea was killed in an apparent murder-suicide when a fire was set inside their Queens apartment Tuesday, officials said. The blaze that killed father Joon Lee, 54, mother Sung Lee, 53, and their 16-year-old son, Brian Lee, erupted around 4:50 a.m. on the sixth floor of the seven-story Blair House apartment co-op on Roosevelt Avenue near Parsons Boulevard in Flushing, fire officials said.

Located at 35-16B Francis Lewis Boulevard in Flushing, the outpost will house 30 employees who speak a variety of languages including Arabic, Greek, Italian, Mandarin and Croation in an effort to cater to the diverse communities in the borough, according to a release from the brokerage.
