Three jailed after girl reports sexual abuse

Three people are in jail facing criminal charges after an 11-year-old girl reported she had been sexually abused, Wichita police said today.
Both of the girl's parents have been arrested, as well as an acquaintance of the mother who is a part-time police officer in Conway Springs, said Lt. T.K. Bridges of the Exploited and Missing Children's Unit.
'This has been going on for a substantial time period,' Bridges said of the alleged abuse, adding later 'years.'
The girl reported the abuse to a school district employee, who followed policy and notified SRS. The agency then contacted police, Bridges said. Read more
