Harrison Twp. farm draws $225 per acre

Farmland rent continued to increase this week when the Harrison Township farm owned by Union County was rented for $225 an acre for each of the next two years, a $5-per-acre increase over the 2008-09 rent.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Indiana farmers could see a substantial increase in property taxes in the next few years if the state's farmland taxation formulas remain unchanged, Purdue agricultural economist Larry DeBoer said.
