Well at least they're selling water and not alcohol.Didn't the original story read that they (Farmington) were building a pipeline "FOR" the Nation and no mention of selling anything? Will it be anything like bottled water?

Why would the reservation want to buy water? The San Juan river runs throughout the northern section of the reservation. Water and Wastewater plants can be built by the tribe to service the homes in the area.

Because our NN government officals take the easy way out. Besides 'most' of our utility workers are hired by their own family members, uneducated on the job training workers. Don't get me wrong! but to think of the future or a plan for the future is not well within their scope. So much for a sovereign nation. Wonder what we had to give up to agree to this.

The Navajo Nation has water rights to the San Juan River not the Animas River, so what is going on here?
Why does not the Navajo Nation use Morgan Lake water to supply Shiprock?
Who has given Farmington Government the right to use the water rights owned by Farmington's Citizens to supply water to Shiprock ?
Which City Councilor claims ownership of land on the Navajo Reservation ?
Which City Councilor is being paid for the water line to cross her alleged property on the Navajo Reservation ?
Which old Farmington Family owns the property that the water holding tank is being built on ?
What price are Farmington's Citizens paying their water ? What price is the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority paying for Farmington's Citizens water ?

Its about time, Farmington takes care of the Navajo people. This will help form a better alliance and maybe the stigma towards the Navajo would be removed.

That is the same question I had, "What we had to give up to agree to this?" Nothing is for free.

Should be a fair trade with F-Town. We give them beans and potatoes from NAPI, and they give us drinking water. sounds good to me.

The Governor of New Mexico has just put all Capital Outlay projects in New Mexico on hold, due to lack of funds.
The Mayor of Farmington should act immediately and do the same - there is no money to pay the bills !
This means you Bill Standley needs to react immediately.

I'm sorry to be the one to tell this, but it is ALL tax money paying for the water line and the water. After all the years of getting the water from wells- getting it back home. It will be comming to you out of a pipe like the white man. At your home you can let it run day and night if you wish.Fill the horse tanks what ever you like.It will only be TAX MONEY.

Hey dumb*ss, get your head out and read where the money is coming from...not the City. "The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation is funding Farmington's $2.3 million tank and $3.9 million pipeline, called the Navajo Nation Municipal Pipeline, as part of a settlement between the Nation and the federal government." The only reason Richardson is halting state capital construction is because the federal investigation put a halt to his payback schemes.

The State of New Mexico has run out of money for capital projects and so has the City of Farmington - what makes Mr Dumas think that the BOR is any different - if this was a BOR project, they would be doing it themselves. PS: don't be a fooled.

Who will pay for the 6-8 million gallons of water per day and what happens when Farmington doesn't receive there monthly check from whomever is paying for it? Will the City of Farmington cut them off, as they would a local resident, who has not payed their water bill. I doubt it. I can see the Headline now... "Farmington cuts water off to 10,000's of Navajo Nation Residents". Slim Chance. What is the bottom Line $$?
