So this is the third or fourth transient involved assault on citizens of Arcata on the plaza in as many months.
Why do the transients have more right to use the streets than those of us that pay taxes and own homes here?

Bravo to the folks that came forward to assist the cops in locating this piece of crap. Hopefully the dullard DA can make sure the stabber goes to prison for a long time and he doesn't just get probation for jaywalking or something.

I did not know that transients have more rights to use the streets than others.

Let us all hope and pray that the esteemed Humboldt DA's Office does not lose the paperwork again on this case and leave the good citizens of Arcata at risk.

i love transients. its like a whole 'nother culture that i don't have to take a train to visit. i like talking to them, knowing their stories, their keys to survival.
i am as much an observer of their world as i am the rich. i am more tolerant of their oddities because i have not bought the party line that they are the problem with my culture. greed, exercised with ruthless precision by some members of the Rich, is the problem with my culture.

some transients are annoying, some theives, some violent, some brilliant artists, etc and so on, just like my co-workers. they are as legitimate part of the fabric in a community as the pta mom who drinks and drives with her kids in the car. crap happens to human beings. that crap happens more frequently in a greedy, hateful culture in which guns and locks are the answer to social challenges.

panhandling doesn't make me poor, but PalCo/Maxxam ransacking my retirement does. homeless people don't diminish my community as much as dioxin left untreated in the bay does.

I wish the stabbing victim a swift recovery. Hang in there and get well soon. I hope they gave you some good drugs to kill the pain.

Screw APD, EPD, they don't do SQUAT. Arm yourself and at night don't be afraid to USE IT. Stab, shoot, break necks, make them leave! Screw tweakers and garbage bums.

Execute the bum in public, right in the Arcata Square. Make him scream in pain first for about an hour.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Libra

Someone is shooting from the hip today, making them irascible and all too liable to fly off the handle. Be very wary about provoking them into further outbursts, particularly where the vexed topics of money and sex are concerned. If you're trying to sort out a financial problem you will also be prone to losing your rag and banging your fist on the table. But will that help?
