EUCLID, Ohio -- Resident Dorothy Richardson, 76, said she was defending herself when she beat to death a 25-pound fawn that was crouched in her flower bed, then stuffed the fawn's body in a cardboard box and put it out on trash day.

Residents will no longer be able to vote for all of their school board members under a ruling by U.S. District Court Judge Kate O'Malley . The arrangement resolved a lawsuit the U.S. Justice Department filed last year against the school board in which Euclid was accused of discriminating against black residents by violating the Voting Rights Act.
