Casino studies: No new licenses in Iowa

The Iowa State Patrol said the accident occured around 10:42 Tuesday morning south of Emmetsburg, on Highway 4. A 2009 Ford Escape, driven by 80-year old Marvella Hurley of Emmetsburg was northbound on Highway 4, The Ford crossed the center line, then collided head on with a southbound 2001 Ford Windstar, driven by 84-year old Mary Gappa.

Members of the Emmetsburg Community School Board of Directors approved two hirings for the coming year during a special meeting Friday morning, Feb. 28. One hiring fills a vacancy created through an early retirement in the district.
