The Emden Village Board this week launched its new year. Newly elected trustee Alberta Hellman was seated as was trustee Matt Balance, who was appointed to fill a vacancy left by trustee Joe Hackett, who chose not to seek re-election. Dan Evans was named mayor pro tem.
