$1.1 million estate gift honors two former KU math professors

Martha Peterson proved early on that women can make it to the top. Peterson, a University of Kansas alumna and former KU dean of women, became the first female president of one of the colleges where she worked and later was the first woman to serve on the board of directors of Exxon.
