AT&T on track to install 9 cell towers

AT&T has completed a third of its Columbus-area wireless coverage upgrade, activating three new cell towers -- two at Fort Benning and another in the Midland area of the city.
The company remains on track to complete its expansion in the market by the end of this year, AT&T spokeswoman Dawn Benton said Wednesday. That includes six more local cell sites.
Overall, AT&T is pumping $50 million this year into its wireless business across Georgia, adding 50 cell sites altogether. The company's three-year investment in the state now tops $575 million. Read more
