Heck, President Obama was in office a whole 8 days when he was nominated. He won for the Hopey-Changey thing.

President Obama won the Nobel 'Peace' Prize for going to foreign countries, and apologizing for America.

While simultaneously conducting several foreign wars.

Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Literature....Peace was added later....and is not in mankind's nature beyond the short term.

From: http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/E/EU_NOB...

"Obama ordered 21,000 additional troops to Afghanistan earlier this year and has continued the use of unmanned drones for attacks on militants in Afghanistan and Pakistan, a strategy devised by the Bush administration. The attacks often kill or injure civilians living in the area."

Killing Afghan civilians with air-strikes, just like Bush. Sure sounds like he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.

Remember this from Obama during the campaign?: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/...

"Asked whether he would move U.S. troops out of Iraq to better fight terrorism elsewhere,[Obama] brought up Afghanistan and said,'We've got to get the job done there and that requires us to have enough troops so that we're not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous pressure over there.'"

According to the commander on the ground, there still aren't enough troops. And we are apparently still air-raiding villages and killing civilians, just like Bush. So much for change you can believe in.

Epic, you got it right...

President Obama won the Nobel 'Peace' Prize for going to foreign countries, and apologizing for America.

That is what it is all about. The peace prize has become a political joke. As with Gore and Carter, Europeans want to bring America down, so giving awards to Americans that bash America is high on their agenda. I would be ashamed to have, or get any 'prize' from them. To me it's more a badge of treason than honor.

Actually President Obama did not "win" the Nobel Prize....it was AWARDED to him. Much like a military medal. It is award by a disinterested 3rd party. The judges are ELECTED by another disinterested 3rd party - Norwegian Parliament. And any time you hear the Reich-wingers talking about the nominations being closed just 11 days after he was sworn in, remind them that the voting didn't occur until June.

well that is not what happened at all. President Obama was awarded the NPP for taking the extraordinary steps towards unifying the world as partners in peace and looking for peaceful ways of avoiding deadly conflicts, you know a bilateral approach rather than taking the unprecedented step of invading a sovereign nation that did not attack us, had no plans to attack us nor did they have the wherewithal to attack us based on lies, innuendo and false political posturing.

The AP seems to see it differently than you. From their story at:http://hosted.ap.org/dynami c/stories/E/EU_NOBEL_PEACE?SIT E=NMSAN&SECTION=HOME&T EMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2009 -10-09-10-09-07

Danda, what a joke, I can list Arafat as getting the prize too, think he deserved it?

Kimball ...

Rarely has an award had such an obvious political and partisan intent. It was clearly seen by the Norwegian Nobel committee as a way of expressing European gratitude for an end to the Bush Administration, approval for the election of America’s first black president and hope that Washington will honor its promise to re-engage with the world.

Instead, the prize risks looking preposterous in its claims, patronising in its intentions and demeaning in its attempt to build up a man who has barely begun his period in office, let alone achieved any tangible outcome for peace.

Bottom line: this action is less the awarding of a prize than a kick in the teeth aimed at traditional American power and prestige.

That says it all.

Ya, left of center people like Ayers, Weather Underground, Black Panthers, Elf and other eco terrorist groups, all the hippy protest and destruction in the 60s and 70s, Ward Churchill in Denver, European labor groups that destroy everything in their path, too exhaustive to continue. And what are conservatives doing? Going to work, raising a family, planning for their and kids future. They don't have time to take to the streets and riot. You leftist preach of peace, and are the most destructive group around.

Why do you people tell only partial truths? Arafat did not win the NPP alone : 1994 - Yasser Arafat, Shimon Peres, Yitzhak Rabin: all three were awarded the prize because they all took courageous steps towards resolution. I guess you have no idea what the real intent of the award is.

And how is that in conflict with what I stated; "It is award by a disinterested 3rd party. The judges are ELECTED by another disinterested 3rd party - Norwegian Parliament."?

Except for fulfilling the directives of Nobel's will - to select the judges-, The Norwegian Parliament elects the judges. I doubt that any of the nominated judges were advocating for a particular candidate. Other than fulfilling the directives of the will, how is the nominating committee not a disinterested 3rd party?

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Cancer

Take things gently otherwise you'll end up running round in ever-decreasing circles. Yes, you may still have a lot to do but you won't achieve very much if you develop butterfingers or waste all your energy on a full-blown panic. Maybe you could rope someone into helping you, rather than doing your Cinderella act in the kitchen while everyone else takes it easy?
