Ship runs ashore on Homer Spit; spills fuel
A 70-foot landing craft leaked 100 gallons of fuel into the tidal zone of the Homer Spit, after high tide pushed the leaking vessel to an unlucky angle.

Coast Guard, sister ship aids vessel with hole in it
A landing vessel that suffered a hole in its hull in the Gulf of Alaska was on its way to Homer Wednesday evening after getting help from the Coast Guard and its sister ship, the Coast Guard said Wednesday.
