The Effingham woman accused of being intoxicated when she got into a car and using it to strike another woman in the Union Street parking lot waived her probable cause hearing on Monday.

Police say an Effingham woman left Slim's TexMex Saloon early Friday morning after a night of drinking and drove her car at another woman in the Union Street parking lot due to an ongoing dispute, fracturing the woman's skull.

New management intends to change the PK Motel for the better following a police sting that lead to the arrest of the motel's former manager and a half dozen other suspects on illegal drug and weapons charges, a current manager said on Tuesday.
