On Friday, July 31, 2009, a crowd gathered to witness the swearing-in ceremony of Ronnie Rhudy as the new Fannin County Tax Assessor by Fannin County Clerk Tammy Rich.
ECISD received an unacceptable rating by the TEA. Four Odessa elementary schools received an exemplary rating by the TEA while 17 elementary campuses were listed as recognized.
