High school student arrested in bomb threats
“I am going to blow up the school.”
GOWER, Mo. | Authorities arrested a juvenile Tuesday in connection with a string of bomb threats in the East Buchanan School District.
The juvenile's name and age have not been released. But they said he was a student at East Buchanan High School in Gower, which is about 40 miles north of Kansas City.
There is no evidence that the suspect had any bomb-making materials or explosive devices, said Gower Police Chief Joe Wellington.
Authorities said he was responsible for leaving at least some of the notes stating that a bomb was planted at the high school, Wellington said. Read more

Bomb scares continue to plague East Buchanan School District
“If I knew for sure who was doing this, they would be taken into custody and we would not have to deal with all of this. We are checking all leads.”
For the sixth day, schools in the East Buchanan School District, about 40 miles north of Kansas City, have been evacuated because of a bomb threat, school officials said this afternoon.
The district's three schools were evacuated earlier today after someone found a note inside a business near one of the schools, Superintendent Charles Nance said.
According to Nance the note said, 'I am going to blow up the school.'
No explosive device was located today. Federal, state and local authorities and a bomb-sniffing dog were searching the buildings for explosives about 1:30 p.m. Read more

Bomb threat forces school evacuations -- for the fourth time
“Obviously it's very disturbing”
For the fourth day in a row, all schools in the East Buchanan School District, about 40 miles north of Kansas City, have been evacuated because of anonymous bomb threats.
The district's three schools were evacuated just after noon today and bomb-sniffing dogs began searching the buildings for explosives about 3:30 p.m., said Nancy J. Roth of Gower, president of the East Buchanan School Board.
School officials are offering a $1,000 award for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is making the threats, said Roth, also a parent of two district students. No bombs have been found during the searches. Read more
