Katie Lynn couldn't see throwing out two well-used ovens just because she was renovating her kitchen. So she had them installed in a utility room, giving her Eastborough home four ovens in all.
'They come in handy during the holidays,' she said. 'I just wish I had a couple dishwashers.'
Not surprisingly, Lynn is adept at cooking for a crowd, a skill she puts to use raising money for pet causes.
On an evening last month, four couples sat down to Lynn's 'Big Fat Greek Dinner,' which she's auctioned each of for the past four years to raise a total of $9,000 for Arts Partners. Read more

Investors circle apartment properties

Offers are rolling in for what may be the largest apartment complex portfolio offering in Wichita's history.
Friday was the deadline for offers on Dermot Realty Management's six Wichita apartment complexes, carrying a $50.4 million price tag.
The Class B Village Park properties -- Barclay Square, Cedarbrooke, Eastborough, Kingsborough, Rockborough and Woodgate -- include 1,277 units averaging 893 square feet, about 6 percent of the city's apartment inventory.
Aaron Hargrove, who is brokering the sale for Tulsa-based Commercial Realty Resources Co., said seven groups have bid on the portfolio and a sale could be possible as early as next week. Read more
