Look Back ... to a warship christened for Eastaboga sailor, 1943

Aug. 10, 1943, in The Star: The USS George Ingram , a destroyer named for a Calhoun County sailor killed at Pearl Harbor, was commissioned today at 2 p.m. in Hingham, Mass. The vessel had been christened early this summer by Mrs. James Ingram, mother of George.
