Former East Rockaway mayor dies

Former East Rockaway Mayor Charles Formont died suddenly on October 21. Formont, who served as an East Rockaway Village Trustee from 1987 to 1995, and another two terms as mayor from 1995 to 2003, was a lifelong village resident and a 49-year member of the East Rockaway Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
