Cops probe East Rockaway burglary

Bad elements are moving in to the Rock.

Thank goodness we still have the 2nd Amendment, which provides us with the means to defend our families and our homes.

Hopefully the gungrabbers running things in DC leave our Constitution intact over the next 4 years.

Nowadays, who leaves their home with windows or doors unlocked? It's just not smart. Luckily they didn't confront them once inside the house, or this story might have a different ending.

Generally people who rob homes don't live in the community they steal from. All the statistics tell us that. Cut the hands off of the guilty and they can't steal anymore.

Two police officers pulled up and and interrogated two boys who were jogging last night. They said they fit the description of those who committed the crime...So, we should be on the look out for two young clean cut boys with the look of boys who have never in their lives committed crimes.. They wear shorts, t-shirts and sneakers and train at night.

Wow....You respond to a robbery article with a gun control opinion? Who are the gungrabbers anyway? Obama has never mentioned anything about restricting firearms legislation during his campaign or during his presidency. The only ones who are talking about it are crazy neo-cons on Fox. Relax, take it easy, no one is going to take your gun away, except maybe by the person you point it at, who will then use it on you.

How did an article about a robbery in East Rockaway turn into a political arguement between Florida residents?

I'm just glad noone was hurt.

It is a good idea for everyone to pay attention and know what is happening in and around their neighborhood.
Please be on the lookout of a black Honda Civic with the license plate "BNK 7553" which is going around looking for houses to rob. These kids "ring and run" or "ding dong ditch" their targets first to see if anyone is home. So far they are getting away with this because it is not a crime to ring someones doorbell and run. It's also hard to prove that they committed the act.
If someone rings your bell and runs, look around for this car. They park their car a few houses away down the block, walk to the house, ring the bell and run in the opposite direction away from their car. If no lights turn on or no one comes out, they will rob the house. If someone is home, the home owner will automatically turn on a light, come outside, or even give chase. If you catch up to them, they will not run and deny the act.
BOTTOM LINE: Lookout for a BLACK HONDA CIVIC with the license plate "BNK 7553".
