Second School Shut Down Amid Flu Concerns

When 145 students, or 40 percent school population, at Keigwin Middle School called out sick, the Middletown School District decided the best course of action was to shut down the school for the rest of the week.

Goodspeed Musicals, a non-profit legit company in East Haddam, Conn., will begin construction in December on a $5.5 million actor housing project, including what it calls "an Olympic Village-style community for actors." Cool Schools: Nathan Hale High - Cool Schools News Story - WFSB Hartford

Nathan Hale-Ray High School was featured on WFSB Channel 3's "Cool Schools" program on Friday, October 23. Mike Hydek of channel 3 came to the school about a week or so in advance, and filmed and interviewed students and how the school is "cool". Some "cool" aspects of Hale-Ray included the Agriculture Department, Forenics, and Fitness. On Friday, the school gathered for a rally that was featured live on the morning news from 5-7 AM.
