Down in the Sacramento they would call this a "spare the air day." Shall we up the ante to "week" or "fortnight"? How high does the reading have to be before the air quality reaches "toxic"? To the young fella out walking on the Skyway: Gosh, is your fitness level improving at all these days? Walk, dont run,(better yet, drive) to the nearest clean air environment in, where? Juneau, Alaska? Come to think of it, you can't actually drive there, either. Take a cruise, you rich people!

I'm still just disappointed by this paper an it's coverage of the fire near magalia. The last "update" being at 10pm last night? What have you all been doing THIS MORNING? Not updating the residents again I see.

Damn it if we don't need a Real news Papaer up here!. Even the Chico ER has updated information from 7:10 AM.. it really sucks to have to go to a Chico paper to get information about the Ridge & the Sawmill Peak Fire.

..all this Air Quality "news" ( yeah, we know air quality is bad, I can look out the window and know that) was on the TV last night. Boy, that was a hard report to put together...

if you want up to date information & maps. go the thenet411.net and go into the chat room, just scroll down the page from where the scanner feeds are. Enter a nick name. The people in there are really nice, and if you ask they'll link you to maps and information

Having just returned to Paradise from Central California, I have to say there is no escape from the smoke for at least 300 miles South (on I-5).

All this smoke, and no barbecue! If you're lucky, just Big Macs and bottled water.

How CAN there be clear concise reporting by the Post? They can't see the fire for the smoke! Usually the Post is the source of smoke, itself, esp. when they choose a new editor. And don't forget the mirrors.
