Domino effect in ambulance service

Ambulance service in the Quakertown area has suffered delays because of the shuttering of two separate emergency squads to the south, officials said on Monday.

St. Luke's Emergency and Transport Services, which serves Upper Bucks, has been helping to fill the gap created when ambulance companies in Dublin and the Pennridge area closed their doors last year.

Admitted child rapist gets up to 20 years in state prison

Admitted child rapist William Fantozzi had little to say Monday in Bucks County Court.

But Judge Albert Cepparulo said plenty, sentencing Fantozzi, 34, formerly of Quakertown, to six to 20 years in state prison for raping a 3-year-old girl in 2002 and 2003.

Fantozzi is already serving a two to five year sentence in state prison for sexually assaulting a 5-year-old boy around the same time.

''Your predatory behavior on both of these children will affect them for the rest of their lives,'' Cepparulo said. ''...The abuse in this case was substantial, it was almost inhuman. It was intentional and it was solely to serve your warped sexual appetite.'' Read more
