The remnants of a tropical depression spun Saturday along the Gulf Coast, creating scattered showers and thunderstorms.
In the West, precipitation fell through much of California and into the Southwest. Rain also increased in the Great Basin and pushed into the Intermountain West. There were winter conditions in higher elevations, with snow advisories in effect for the Sierra Nevadas.
Elsewhere, a cold front swept through the Plains and Great Lakes and moved into the Northeast. Much of the precipitation from this front had diminished by early morning, but showers moved through parts of the Upper Midwest. Read more
