SCHS Band hold March for Music 5K Walk
There is a fee to walk but anyone is free to come and cheer on the walkers. Registration may be done ahead of time, or there will also be late registration the day of the run beginning at 9 a.m. There will be prizes and drawings after the event, which is expected to last 1-2 hours.

The Town of Dover is beefing up its personnel after the Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted unanimously on March 10 to hire another person for the water department as well as to make part-timer Terry Watson a full-time employee.

Sleet storm blasts Stewart County
Being part of a National Weather Service record is no consolation to the many Stewart County families whose lives were affected beginning March 2 by a massive sleet storm that blanketed the area and kept many folks confined to their homes for at least a few days.
Fitzhugh, Berry, Beechum win Dover election
A total of 16 percent of the 1,008 registered voters in the town of Dover cast ballots to see incumbents Mayor Lesa Fitzhugh and Ward I Alderman Paul "Bud" Berry return to office as well as see Robert "Boo" Beecham accept the Ward II spot following the retirement of Dalton Bagwell from the board.

Dover VA clinic to close
Stewart County veterans assigned to the Dover VA clinic at the Stewart County Community Medical Center are receiving letters telling them that the clinic will stop serving veterans effective April 30.
