A Zumba fundraiser Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. will benefit a local girl recently diagnosed with leukemia.
Bite of Berks event to fund scholarships
The Bite of Berks fundraiser is coming this fall. The Berks County Conservation District will host the event, featuring up to a dozen restaurants, bakeries, wineries and breweries in an informal competition to see who can make the tastiest one-bite appetizer, main dish, side order, salad or dessert.

Limerick Man Pleads Guilty to Role in Burglary Spree
According to the Pottstown Mercury , Joseph Anthony Samsel Jr., 25, of the 100 block of West Ridge Pike, pleaded guilty to charges of burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary in connection with a string of 21 break-ins from July 2012 to January 2013.
