In a rare appearance in Marin County, the California Coastal Commission sought feedback Wednesday on the agricultural regulations at the heart of its voter-mandated mission to preserve, protect and restore the shoreline from sweeping development and environmental degradation.

Marin Civic Center volunteers, charitable groups and staff members took a bow Tuesday as county officials issued a flurry of honors, resolutions and commendations.

National Weather Service officials have recognized Marin County and the community of Dillon Beach as "StormReady" and "TsunamiReady" communities.
