Town once again dreads sundown

Rudy Alvarez should become the chief and yogi the sergeant maybe the town can sleep at night.. lol

i've never dreaded being out in dilley at night. and why get comments from ranchers I though county was to patrol there places. oh I forgot dilley cops are everywhere except in town where they should be. so they busted pot on the highway what about the drugs in the town ain't nothing happening with that.

Well it didn't take long to hire new cops I thought no one would want to come to Dilley to be police. Oh and by the way you should check your grammar before posting your grammatical errors speak for themselves, and I won't resort to calling names. All I'm saying is that I've never been afraid to be out at nite. I was outside for the new year for about four hours and not even once did I see a cruiser pass bye. The police are doing well, and I commend them for what they have done, but they need to focus on the city not the county. Did you know that they have allegedly made a pact to where they can patrol the whole county. We need them in town, thats all I'm saying, we don't need Romo to build hype for his running for sheriff, we need him to protect the citizens. As chief his duties are mostly administrative submit paperwork, budgets, schedules, invoices. Shot he has a $400,000 budget he needs to answer where the money goes. a $400,000 budget for a town the size of dilley is unheard of.

Well I hope to hear some educated responses this time. LOL

Homer the last time I looked, Ih35 is part of the city, so I think that the officers are doing their job. I do not think that there has ever been a case that has not been worked inside the city. So give them credit and don't knock them.

Yea But IH35 isn't all of Dilley. I just want to see the cops driving by the streets of Dilley. I don't even see them at school zone's anymore. They are supposed to serve the community. I give credit where credit is due. Not all of the cops in Dilley are under Romo's spell. Thankfully.

People who criticize Romo aren't interested in running for sherriff or taking his job as chief they r simply voicing their opinions. That's why we have elections. We vote.. and you can be damn sure Rome isn't getting mine if and when he runs for sherriff!!!!

Look, you people seem to argue over the wrong subject. What you need to be taking into consideration is the fact that Dilley isn't big enough, commercially, to have a larger PD. Why dont' we see squad cars up and down the streets? The answer is simple, we don't have enough police officers. Also, has anyone noticed that Dilley ends up with everyone elses ex-police officers and they aren't let go because they felt like Dilley was such a wonderful place and they needed a change. So, let's quit arguing and fighting over grammar, where the cops aren't and where the cops shouldn't be. Let's start trying to figure out how we can Dilley a bigger and better place to live. If we can succeed at that, we can then start looking forward to having better cops who can protect the citizens better and do the job we want them to do.

Romo lives in pearsall, and I might ask him some questions and give him a piece of my mind.

Are you educated in any other manner besides high school diploma, if even that! Do you have children you need to go home to? Would you take a bullet? What would you do if you were on the highway as a law enforcement officer and someone just started shooting? You seem to have all the answers. I hope your smart enough and get your ass out on the highway and see what can await you. Have you gone to any of the city council meetings in Dilley and voiced your opinion? I'm sure you do have a pair of nuts so try and make it to the next city council meeting and say what you have to say. Ask to ride along with someone on the highway and see what they have to go through. Remember what happened in Atascosa years ago, those deputies and troopers lost their lives and their children WILL NEVER get to see them again. But I forgot, your smarter than them, you would know what to do in that situation. You don't have to vote for ROMO, only dumbasses vote for the other guys. You don't even see the other guys on the highway. One is always getting drunk, and the other is a leech on his way. WOW that is Sheriff material. And Actually I am quite eduacted and have a college degree. Do you? I doubt it and I have ridden along with police officers and in fact work with along side law enforcment in atascosa conty. That is why I can't believe the way the chief is acting. An officer of the law should have the up most integrety and respect for goverment yet Romo lacks it. And no we don't vote for Romo we vote for the council to make decesions on our behalf and I am only one of a growing majority that is fed up of Romo antics and are asking that he be removed to move on with important city business. So don't patrol the highway where you might get hurt patrol the town where you might actually do your job protect and serve. Out of all the comments I have read, none state any fact of what is actually going on in the City Of Dilley or its Police Department. Truth, certain City Council members are trying to "Micro-Manage" Chief Romo and decide how he should run HIS Department. They have been trying to dictate where funds go, who to hire, who to fire...etc! It is not their place to do so! Truth, when previous administration was in force, Dilley had one of the highest crime rates in Frio County, until Romo. Truth, no the "white" people at the meeting don't live in town nor do they have a vote, but they have business here and they were victims of burglaries committed by the individuals that Romo and his officers caught last x-mas day, in the act! Truth, Rudy Alvarez has repeatedly shown his defiance, not only to his fellow councilmen, but also to his public. The Mayor asked him several times to stop interupting or he would be asked to leave and on the fourth time of the Mayor asking Mr. Alvarez to stop, Mr. Alvarez stated "Bullshit" at which point he was asked to leave. Mr. Alvarez refused to leave, there fore the Mayor asked the Officers to escorted Mr. Alvarez out. Mr. Alvarez was asked repeatedly to step outside and when he refused, he was arrested...lawfully (Chapter 38.13 PC). So I ask you, please, if you do not know then dont say anything or speculate cuz it only makes YOU look bad. Thank you!!!

i live in dilley but i work outoftown most of the time i get home around 200-300a.m and there is always cop around going thru.the streets with thier spot lights.and if your walking late at night you will be question about .you might not see them out and about but they are.

Rome you need to move to another town and like you have done in the past. Every job you have had as a law officer you get fired. You have tried to be the good police officer, but you do not want to relized that you are a loser and cannot to the job. All the rest you have done, they call to you let you know what is coming through the are with cookies and you make the stop and act if you spoted it or think you are it. Trevino for the future!
