Storms Developing In Northwest Texas
The strong storms we've been watching for today are now starting to develop to our west.
Large amounts of moisture has been flowing north from the Gulf of Mexico today. The atmosphere has maintained a strong "cap" for the better part of the day, keeping storms from developing in our area.
As we reach the maximum for heating today that cap will erode. When that occurs the chance of rapid storm development increases rapidly.
This afternoon, large and dangerous storms have been firing in front of a dryline that runs from roughly Childress to Big Spring to Ft. Stockton. Read more
