I believe one of the news channels did a story on the whole so called gas gouging and they went to the highest priced gas in town and ask the guy why it was so high and everyone else around him was soo much lower.

He shows them his invoice that he paid for the gas and by the gallon it was the same price he was selling it as.

I think some people forget that sometimes the gas stations buy at a higher price than they sale just to keep up with everyone else. And thats okay with everyone...but the one time they raise the price closer to the real price that they paid then it becomes a problem.

Of course I am sure some gas stations are raising just to be doing it or to get more money or profit or whatever but I think each gas station is different and you can't really blanket them all.

I mean on any given day in lincolnton you have Citgo and Raceway two cents different from each other and then you go over to the gas station by the old bowling alley and its usually a good 10 cent higher.

Different gas stations always have different prices some are lower some are higher and if the lower gas stations raise their prices then the higher gas stations might be incline to do the same just to keep the balance.
good point
