Man pleads not guilty to vehicular homicide
<![CDATA[LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) -- A 31-year-old Denham Springs man has pleaded not guilty to vehicular homicide in 14th Judicial District Court. Holly Carter, Calcasieu Parish District Attorney spokeswoman, said Jason Scott Bennett is charged in a Sept. 24 accident that resulted in a death. The Public Defender's Office has been appointed to represent Bennett and a pretrial conference has been set for Aug. 5. Bennett was transferred Friday from the Livingston Parish jail to Calcasieu Correction Center.
