Long lines as veterans seek emergency GI bill funds

Veterans started lining up before 3 a.m. today at the Houston VA Regional Office, hoping to get one of the $3,000 emergency checks being issued today to thousands of student vets awaiting payments for books, housing and tuition under the new Post-9/11 GI Bill .
